A total of nine people in Cumbria have lost their lives in the past 24 hours, after receiving a positive test for Covid-19.
Those who have died tested positive for the virus in the past 28 days.
One of these was recorded in Allerdale, three in Copeland, three in Carlisle, and two in Barrow.
No Covid-related deaths were recorded in Eden or South Lakeland in the past 24 hours.
A further 305 people in the county have received a positive Covid-19 result.
The figures are as follows:
- Allerdale – 41
- Carlisle – 86
- Copeland – 32
- Barrow – 63
- Eden – 33
- South Lakeland – 50
Under the current government restrictions, the country remains in lockdown.
This means non-essential journeys should not be made, and everyone should remain inside their own homes as much as possible, unless in a support bubble.
Hand sanitising, social distancing and mask wearing is all advised when entering a shop or someone's else's home.
