A further seven people in Cumbria have died in the past 24 hours after testing positive for Covid-19.

One death was recorded in Allerdale, two in Carlisle, one in Copeland, two in Barrow, and one in South Lakeland.

No further deaths were recorded in Eden.

Each person who lost their life had tested positive for coronavirus within the past 28 days.

In the past 24 hours, a further 258 people have also received a positive test result for the virus in Cumbria, bringing the county's total number of cases up to 21,514.

The figures were recorded as follows:

  • Allerdale – 33
  • Carlisle – 101
  • Copeland – 31
  • Barrow – 33
  • Eden – 30
  • South Lakeland – 30.

The nation currently remains in lockdown, meaning everyone should remain in their own homes unless carrying out essential travel, or they are in a support bubble.
