A CHARITY shop in Keswick is celebrating a design win and a successful year despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Oxfam Keswick has been named as having one of the best charity shop window displays by a blogger who aims to celebrate the visual merchandising talent in charity shops.

The stunning blue themed display that put them on the top 20 list was put together by Pat Royall, a homewares volunteer at the shop, as an uplifting display for the shop's re-opening back in June.

Julia Wilmott, the shop manager, commented: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers in the shop and to those that haven’t been able to return yet due to Covid-19, new and old, to say a massive thank you for their dedication."

The display was featured in an article by Charity Shop VM, a blog by a leading visual merchandiser in the charity shop sector.

The article shared 20 "fabulous displays full of inspiration from Keswick to Hastings to Edinburgh.

But, this isn't the only thing that volunteers at the charity shop are expressing their gratitude for.

"We are also incredibly grateful also for the support from donors who’s generosity and trust in us continues to help us generate the most profit from any Oxfam shop in the country," said Julia.

"It has been one of the most challenging years, for the obvious reasons, but the teams spirit and the sense of community generated by this has been nothing but inspiring."

Oxfam Keswick is eager to hear from people who may be interested in supporting the shop through volunteering.

Whether you can help out by working on the till, sorting through donations, or conducting research, they want to hear from you.

Anybody interested in volunteering with the shop can do so in two ways, either by filling in a volunteer form that can be found on www.oxfam.org.uk.

Alternatively, you can find out more information by contacting the shop on oxfamshopf0327@oxfam.org.uk.
