A MAJOR Carlisle museum exhibition is to be extended for more than a month beyond its original end date.

The Tattoo: British Tattoo Art Revealed exhibition at Tullie House Museum, run in partnership with the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, will now be running until February 27.

The exhibition was originally set to end on Saturday January 16.

The exhibition tells the story of tattoos in Britain throughout history, and also features a collection of body art submitted by Cumbrian residents, along with the stories of what their tattoos mean to them.

Charli Summers, programme manager at Tullie House said the exhibition features unique collaborations between national organisations, collectors, artists and leading academics".
