After a year of cancellations, plans have been put in motion to bring back a popular race next year.

Entries are now open for Kirkbride half marathon and the organisers of the road race have set a date for Sunday, April 25.

Dozens of people are expected to take part in the event, which is due to start 800 metres from The White Heather Hotel.

The race is described as flat and is a must for anyone looking for a personal best.

The roads are quiet country roads and very flat with one small climb that gives runners a downhill run towards the finish.

The course takes runners through one big loop through Kirkbride, Newton Arlosh and Lessonhall, taking a left back towards the finish.

The race is planned to start at 10am. With entries now open, UKA members wanting to take part and who enter before December 31, will pay £25, (non-UKA members £27). After December 31 and until April 11, 2021, UKA members will pay £26 and non-UKA members £28.

The event is an officially measured and certified accurate course by the Association of UK Course Measurers. There will be ample parking available on site, along with toilets for males and females. Any queries contact – events@sportinaction.co.uk
