Cumbrians are set to be amongst the first in the UK to receive vaccination against coronavirus.
An NHS presentation seen by local democracy reporters revealed that Cumbrian bases are amongst the first to administer vaccinations in the UK.
The slide reads "Whitehaven/Carlisle" in week one of the proposed roll-out.
They join The Royal Victoria Infirmary and James Cook Hospital in the first phase.
The NHS presentation revealed that hospitals will serve as "vaccine hubs" administering the Pfizer and BioNTech jab, which was approved by the regulator earlier this week.
Local vaccine services will include primary care and pharmacies.
"Vaccination centres" will also be set up in "large sites such as sports and conference venues set up for high volumes of people."
The process is set to begin from next week.
