CUMBRIA police have launched their winter domestic abuse campaign with a message of support for victims.

Cumbria Police are working to raise awareness of domestic abuse throughout December.

Each day, the force's social media channels will explore the ways a victim of domestic abuse can seek support in Cumbria.

In their advice to the public, a spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "Please don't suffer in silence this festive period."

Victim Support Cumbria is one of the services available to those suffering in an abusive home.

The service is manned by specially trained advisers who advise on putting a plan in place and if needed, help victims seek alternative accommodation.

Victim Support Cumbria is available on 03003030157 or supportline@victimsupport.org.uk.
