Christmas came early for hundreds of children this year.
In fact, Santa paid a secret visit to every school in Maryport and Flimby and left over 1,300 bags of goodies
The secret visit was organised by the town council after being told that Santa would not be able to have his usual grotto in the town because of Covid-19.
The council will hold a virtual lights switch-on this Saturday. The lights will be switched on by Santa and Mayor Peter Kendall at 5pm followed by a drive around allowing people to see the lights.
Before that, however, Imagination Parties will be organising entertainment for children and their families online. Imagination Parties is offering a feast of entertainment with games, songs, stories and a Christmas quiz.
