SIX businesses in Copeland that were tested for food hygiene have been rated good or very good by Copeland council.
As part of its unannounced inspections of businesses in the area, four of the six received a top rating of 5, which indicates hygiene standards are very good; and two received a rating of 4, meaning good. The rating is based on a scale from 0 to 5, with 0 being where urgent improvement is required.
The ratings are: Millom Stepping Stones, St George’s Road, Millom, 5; Haverigg Fish and Chips, Main Street, Haverigg, 5; McColls, Main Street, Distington, 5; Playroom Day Nursery, Sneckyeat Industrial Estate, Whitehaven, 5; Arlecdon Post Office and Stores, Arlecdon Road, Arlecdon, 4; St Bees Post Office and Stores, Main Street, St Bees, 4.
