The Penrith Christmas lights switch on 2020 will be a switch on with a difference this year.

So that people will not miss out, due to coronavirus, on one of the most magical events of the year, Penrith Businesses Improvement District (BID) and Discover Penrith are bringing the joy of Christmas straight to in to people's homes instead.

Organisers have decided to let residents enjoy a virtual switch on.

Throughout the town the angels have returned, shop windows are looking festive and there are a beautiful sparkling display of festive lights throughout the streets.

Penrith’s festive switch on will spread Christmas cheer virtually this year, with people being encouraged to stay at home, get cosy and enjoy a festive evening at home.

At 6pm on November 21 the Penrith Christmas lights will be switched on in all their sparkly glory, via their Facebook and Youtube channels and also at https://discoverpenrith.co.uk/christmas/
