A warning has been issued to fly tippers after two fridge freezers were dumped.
Allerdale Council is warning people that they could face an unlimited fine or even a jail sentence.
A spokesman for the councils said: “These two ended up being dumped at Parsonby Brow on the B5301, near Moota this week. Fly-tipping is not only dangerous and illegal but it’s a blight on our communities. If you are caught fly-tipping you may receive an unlimited fine or even be sent to prison. You will also be prosecuted if fly-tipped items can be traced back to you.”
