With more than £28 million shared between businesses affected by the pandemic, Carlisle City Council is urging traders affected by the latest lockdown to check their eligibility for further funding.

The council is encouraging businessowners to apply for the Local Restrictions Support Grant, in the hopes of keeping those impacted by the current restrictions afloat.

For eligible businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under, a grant of £1,334 will be given.

Properties with a value between £15,000-£51,000 could receive £2,000, and those above the value of £51,000 could receive £3,000.

Leader of Carlisle City Council, Councillor John Mallinson, said: “If a business is eligible, we urge them to get in touch and complete the online application form.

“In addition to this grant scheme we are also supporting the administration of the government’s Additional Restrictions Grant scheme which we hope to launch soon.”
