A 43-YEAR-OLD Carlisle shoplifter has been given a suspended jail sentence.
At the city’s Rickergate court, Peter Martin Vickers, of Partridge Place, Belle Vue, pleaded guilty to:
* Stealing goods from the Cardewlees Filling Station at Orton Grange on May 18;
* Stealing razors and laundry goods worth £96 from the Co-op in Denton Street on November 14;
* Stealing a Calvin Klein box set worth £25 from the Well Pharmacy, also in Denton Street, on the same day;
* Stealing makeup worth £112 from Boots in English Street, Carlisle, on November 11;
* And breaching a court’s criminal behaviour order on November 14 by entering the city centre shops he entered.
Magistrates imposed an eight-week jail sentence but suspended the sentence for a year.
Vickers must observe a six-week overnight curfew, which will run from 7pm to 7am each day.
