AN NHS trust which provides mental health support to people in Cumbria has won an award.

The Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) - which operates hospitals including the Carleton Clinic in Carlisle - has won the QA Award for Macro Employer of the Year in the 2020 North East National Apprenticeship Awards.

The virtual ceremony to announce the regional winners was held on Monday. CNTW will now progress to represent the region at the National Final on November 25.

CNTW has over 300 apprentices.

The trust offers apprenticeships in areas including customer service and health and management.

Annette Connor, apprenticeships and career development lead at CNTW Training Academy, said: “We are thrilled to be recognised as a regional winner of this award, cementing our position as a committed apprentice employer."
