A MAN has been ordered to pay more than £600 after he was found guilty of hitting a woman.
Nico Jon Barrowclough was found guilty of assault by beating on June 2 in Whitehaven.
He appeared before Workington's magistrates' court on September 28 and denied the offence.
Barrowclough, of Duke Street in Whitehaven, was found guilty of the charge after a trial in the same court on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old was fined £150 by the court. He was ordered to pay £150 in compensation to the victim.
Barrowclough was also told to pay a £34 surcharge to fund victim services.
He was also ordered to pay £300 in costs to contribute towards bringing the case to trial.
The court agreed he must pay the balance at a rate of £20 per month, with the first payment due on December 1.
