Each year Royal Mail runs a free service where you can write to Santa and receive a reply from the ‘North Pole’.

The Write to Santa scheme is now open for 2020.

The Royal Mail Letters to Santa site says: “It's nearly Christmas, and we know you want to make sure that your letter to Santa Claus gets to him.

"Please remember, as Santa says: get your letter posted by Friday 11 December."

To use the service, you need to get your little one to write a letter with their full name and address.

Drop the letter into an envelope with a stamp, and send it to Santa's 'address' provided by Royal Mail.

The address you need is: Santa/Father Christmas, Santa's Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ.

The last posting days for Christmas postage have also been revealed.

For anyone pasting 2nd class and 2nd class signed for you'll need to get your mail in the post by Friday, December 18.

1st class and 1st class signed for as well as Royal Mail Tracked 48 can wait until Monday, December 21.

Also, Royal Mail Tracked 24 has the last day of Tuesday, December 22.

For special delivery guaranteed the date is Wednesday, December 23.

Royal Mail Tracked 24 and Royal Mail Tracked 48 services are not available to purchase at Post Office® branches

For those wondering when Christmas stamps are available they come out on Tuesday.
