The Egremont community has been invited to have its say on the future of the town’s conservation area.

A consultation has been launched by Copeland Council, seeking the views of residents on what the town’s most historic area should look like in the future.

The four-week consultation is being held as the council drafts a new document which will serve as a guide to the future development of Egremont’s conservation area.

A Copeland council spokesman explained: “We are inviting the Egremont community to give us its views on the town’s conservation area.

“We have launched a four-week consultation into Egremont’s conservation area, as we prepare a document outlining its special interest, referring to its development, character and appearance.

“We are also holding a virtual public meeting for Egremont on November 27 at 1pm.”

“We welcome all your feedback before the November 20 deadline to help us make sure the Egremont document fully reflects the wealth of local knowledge available,” the spokesman added.

“Our consultation into the Cleator Moor conservation area continues until November 6, with its public meeting held on November 13.”
