PASSENGERS have been warned that essential engineering works may disrupt journeys on the Carlisle to Leeds railway.
Network Rail has announced that work will take place from Saturday to October 28 - on the Skipton to Kirkby Stephen section of the line.
Trains will continue to operate between Leeds and Skipton - and Kirkby Stephen and Carlisle.
A bus replacement service will run, between Skipton and Kirkby Stephen, by rail operator Northern.
The work forms part of a £2m Great North Rail Project which will see the replacement of two bridges.
Nathaly Oshodin, project manager for Network Rail, said: “I’d urge passengers to think ahead so they know what to expect from their journey while the railway is closed."
