RESIDENTS in a rural part of the county are invited to dust off their bikes and bring it along to a free repair shop this weekend.

The Hallbankgate Hub, on the outskirts of Brampton, is hosting a free bicycle repair hub on Sunday.

The community hub is doing this with the help of the Carlisle Community Cycle Hub which aims to make cycling available to everyone.

People who are interested in having their bike checked and repaired should request a time slot.

They will then be emailed a 30 minute timeslot that will be between 10am and 2pm on Sunday.

The volunteer mechanics are able to provide a few services which include free safety checks to ensure the bike is safe to ride and minor repairs and adjustments.

Repairs and adjustments may be punctures, tube replacements, brake cable and pads, and adjusting gears.
