EDEN Council saw a surge of local traders eager to set-up shop at Penrith Market when it re-opened earlier this month.
The council noted that a number of local traders had been in contact about setting up their stalls at the market ahead of its October re-launch.
Councillor Mary Robinson, deputy leader of Eden Council, said: “There has been a surge in interest recently and we want to do everything we can to encourage new traders to the town.
“With a wider variety of quality stalls, we hope that local shoppers will be attracted in greater numbers to enjoy some of the brilliant produce on offer.”
