In today's gallery we remember the day thousands of locomotive enthusiasts gathered in Carlisle to welcome the arrival of the world famous Flying Scotsman to Cumbria.
After being restored at a cost of £4.2 million the black beauty chugged its way into the city’s Citadel Station on Saturday 5th February 2016.
The iconic steam train drew spectators of all age ranges, including families with children alongside train enthusiasts and photographers alike.
The spectacular entrance of this true feat of engineering prowess will be well recalled by all who was lucky enough to have witnessed its rare and opportune arrival in our region.
