Officers are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle collision.
The incident took place at about 1.40pm on Sunday, and saw a Black Vauxhall Astra and an off-road motorcycle involved in a head-on crash.
The rider and passenger of the bike, described as two young males, left the scene following the collision, which took place at the junction of Frizington Road and Church Street, in Frizington.
Police are appealing for any information that would help in identifying the ride and passenger.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has CCTV dashcam footage from the time of the collision, is asked to come forward.
