In this time of isolation for many, remembering back to moments of community spirit will come as a great comfort.
In today's gallery we look back at the Abbeytown Carnival, a tradition in our region that had a long and, undoubtedly, intriguing history at the heart of the community in our region.
The parade of floats and people in fancy dress would meander its way through the streets of Wigton and Silloth villages drawing crowds that would greet the participants as well as a trail of onlookers who would join the procession.
No doubt many readers will have fond memories of the carnival, that was sadly cancelled in 2018 after three decades, and may well recognise themselves or friends in today's gallery.
Make sure to get in touch if you do!
