A CARLISLE man must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work after he admitted assaulting a woman on May 25 last year.

Jerzy Kolkowsky, 34, of Warwick Road, originally denied the assault causing actual bodily harm but he changed his plea to guilty at the city’s Rickergate court last week.

He also admitted a common assault on the same woman on New Year’s Day.

As well as the unpaid work, he must complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity, and pay costs associated with the case.

This is made up of £400 prosecution costs and an £85 victim surcharge, said magistrates.
