The M6 southbound has now been reopened after a fire had closed one lane of the motorway.
Emergency services attended the fire, where a car had set alight.
The two people in the car managed to get out without sustaining any injuries to themselves.
Traffic officers and the fire service attended the fire, which was on the M6 motorway southbound at J41 to J40.
Police have now left the scene.
