Having been around for more than twenty years, Howdens Joinery have defied the odds stacked against businesses in these strange times, the solidity of their supply chain ensuring that they can meet the demand of customers and plug in the gaps left behind by those who weren’t able to fill their requests.

Established in 1995, Howdens came to Carlisle in 2000 and has served the tradespeople of Carlisle well ever since. With a team of 10, the company sell only to the trade, believing that kitchens and joinery should be professionally installed, though this doesn’t stop them from welcoming the general public into their depot and putting them in touch with a tradesperson if required, at no cost to the public.

News and Star:

And it’s an exciting moment to get involved with Howdens. With their one and only sale of the year now on and ending on 31 October, now is the time to take a look around. With the offer of a free home survey and design appointment, and even the enticement of a free bottle of prosecco at the end of your meeting, there’s really no reason not to participate.

Phillip Morgan, Depot Manager at Howdens Joinery Carlisle, explains how they’ve managed to incorporate the health and safety guidelines to ensure the health of both customers and staff.

“Our depot has strict Covid policies in place, with adherence to 2m distancing wherever possible. We also have sanitising points throughout the depot and simply ask that our customers wear their mask at all times and put on gloves, which we supply, prior to handling any products.”

News and Star:

And with such an easily accessible location as Currock Road Industrial Estate, their depot isn’t just top notch for safety.

Due to the fact that they manufacture many of the products themselves, here in the UK, they haven’t had the problems that others have had when importing goods, and that’s what’s keeping them a step ahead of the competition.

“The key difference is that whereas most kitchen companies will take your order and then order the stock from suppliers, possibly overseas, we keep most of the items in stock here in Carlisle. So, if you decide to change your design in the middle of the installation, we can accommodate that, rather than the job being put on hold for a number of weeks.”

The quality of their products is also a huge mark in their favour, with high quality kitchen cabinets that are rigidly built in their UK factories, ensuring they are stronger and longer lasting than the flatpack kitchens that many customers are used to.

News and Star:

And while they are best known for kitchens, they also hold a wide range of joinery and hardware too, with 1 in 4 internal doors sold in the UK coming from Howdens! Their full range of doors are on display within their Carlisle depot.

The sale won’t last forever, so get in touch with Howdens today.
