Firefighters were forced to close a busy road after a van was found ablaze.
A crew from Cockermouth Fire and Rescue team were deployed just after 5.15pm.
It happened on the A594 close to Dovenby.
a spokesman for the crew said: "At 5.17pm the Cockermouth appliance was mobilised to a van on fire in the A594 near Dovenby.
" The crew extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet, one breathing apparatus set with a thermal imaging camera."
The road reopened shortly after the incident.
