WARNINGS and protection notices have been issued to a group of abusive youths in Carlisle city centre, police have said.
A spokesman for Cumbria Constabulary said PCSOs had been working with the management of The Lanes Shopping Centre for a fortnight after the group was abusive to security guards and interfered with the carpark’s CCTV cameras.
Officers issued Community Protection Warnings, under the Antisocial Behaviour and Crime and Policing Act 2014, to the young males and, because three of them have breached those, they have now received Community Protection Notices.
A spokesman for the force said: “Community Protection Warnings and notices are just one of the methods utilised to make both the city centre and The Lanes Shopping Centre a safer place to visit.”
