One dedicated teen is set to take one very slimy plunge – all to raise funds for a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
With high hopes to take part in the Scouts’ European Jamboree 2020, 15-year-old Kenzie Watson will take a dip in a bath of slime to try raise £1,415.
The funds will pay for an 18-day trip with his unit, Phoenix Explorers, and see the Mirehouse youngster visit Amsterdam, Warsaw and Auschwitz.
Explaining his decision to take a dunk in a “Gelli-Baff”, Kenzie said: “It’s a bit different to other fundraisers, so I’m hoping it catches people’s attention.
“The last Jamboree was 15 years ago, so it literally is the chance of a lifetime.”
The devoted Scout will spend this coming Saturday afternoon sat in the “disgusting stuff”, and has already raised more than £300.
