CUMBRIAN young farmers will show their support for Newton Rigg College in Penrith, earmarked for closure next year, by running a Tractor Relay Run next month.

The planned event was due to take place this month, but was cancelled due to part of the run taking place in the Eden district, in the news as a potential hotspot for Covid-19.

But Cumbria YFC county chair, Neil Curr, and Jess Rogerson, southern district vice-chair, confirmed that the tractor relay would now be taking place at a later date.

The idea for a tractor relay in support of Newton Rigg College came from Sedbergh young farmer, Ruby Allan, 17, and her mum, Linda.
