A Cumbrian non-league team has seen its first league game of the season postponed after an opposition player contracted Covid-19.
Penrith have confirmed their Northern League Division One fixture against Whitley Bay will now not be played this weekend.
In a short statement, Penrith said: "Tomorrow's Northern League Division One game against Whitley Bay at Frenchfield Park has been postponed due to a Whitley Bay player testing positive for Covid-19.
"A new date will be rearranged."
It was set to be the long awaited league season opener for Dave Hewson's side after the long lay-off for non-league clubs during the pandemic.
The Bonny Blues had been hoping to build on Tuesday's impressive FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round victory over Pickering Town.
