WITH Covid-19 taking over the country, one of the district’s largest agricultural shows has made the decision to go virtual after it was forced to cancel.
With the deadline for entries for the Virtual Slaley Show expiring this week, we took a look back at the show from 10 years ago.
Slaley Show has long been a highlight of the Tynedale agricultural show season, and there was huge disappointment when it, along with most of the other shows across the district, was unable to go ahead in 2020 due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
The show in 2010 was the 151st in its history, and show goers were greeted by warm sunshine and a great atmosphere.
The winner of the coveted overall champion in the sheep section was Andrew Reed, of Weardale, with his Texel.
