Man to stand trial for having an axe in a public place
A man who was charged with having an axe and using threatening behaviour is to stand trial.
Jason Stuart Bowman, 48, who appeared at Carlisle Crown Court yesterday via video link from HMP Durham, was charged with being in possession of a bladed or pointed article, by having an axe on English Street, Carlisle.
The charge relates to an incident last month.
Bowman pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He is set to stand trial in October.
