Record levels of recycling have meant crews have been unable to complete their rounds in Copeland.
The council claim the volume of recycling meant they will have to send a crew back out on Monday to complete he task in Arlecdon, Rowrah, Lowca and a small number of streets in Whitehaven.
Hoping people will be understanding a spokesman said: "Due to the current record-breaking levels of kerbside recycling in Copeland, our crews have been unable to complete their round.
“Our crews continue to do an outstanding job – collecting significantly increased volumes of recycling and working amid the challenges the Covid-19 outbreak is bringing - and this is the first occasion in a number of weeks when a small number of properties have not had their recycling collected on their day.
“We appreciate our residents’ understanding and we will collect it on Monday.”
