A Wigton-based charity has been given a £5,000 funding boost by Cumbria Community Foundation, to help keep its activities going throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
Chrysalis Cumbria, based on Longthwaite Road, provides support to adults with learning disabilities.
More than 30 people are supported each week to access a wide range of both leisure and education activities.
Chrysalis Cumbria provides one-to-one support, group activities and respite care.
Unfortunately, social distancing rules and the ongoing risk from Covid-19 has mean the charity cannot currently bring people together in person.
But after a £5,000 donation from Cumbria Community Foundation's Covid-19 Response Fund, the charity was able to cover the costs of extra resources needed to continue to provide services.
The charity now has additional IT equipment, to enable it to offer online video conference calls with staff and members, and the purchase of a freezer and some food items to ensure members have access to adequate food supplies.
