Training in the care sector has proven to be a success for Copeland Borough Council after sessions led to five people finding employment. The Copeland Work and Skills Partnership has ran training courses in care alongside Wyndham Manor Care Home, Cleator Moor.
Sessions, which led five Copeland residents to employment in the care sector, were delivered on Google Classroom, adapting to the Covid-19 outbreak. Five of eight participants have found roles in Wyndham Manor as care coordinators, support workers, domestic assistants and kitchen assistants. Training sessions covered health and safety in the workplace, dementia, hydration and nutrition.
The skills partnership is jointly funded by Copeland Community Fund and Sellafield Limited.
