A MAN has been made the subject of a community order for driving while he was banned from holding a licence.
Steven James Cherry, 26, of Botcherby Avenue, Carlisle, appeared at Carlisle’s magistrates’ court where he pleaded guilty to the offence.
He was charged with driving a Vauxhall Astra on Bower Street, Wigton Road and Dalston Road when he was disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence.
Cherry was made subject of a rehabilitation activity requirement - he must comply with any instructions to attend appointments as required for a maximum of 25 days. He was also banned from holding a licence for six months and fined £120.
Cherry must also pay costs of £85 and £95 to fund victim services. He was also caught driving with no insurance, no separate penalty was given.
