A DRUG-driver has landed himself with a community order after being caught over the legal limit.

Ryan Irvine, 28, of East Nelson Street, Carlisle, was caught driving a Citroen on Inglewood Road with benzoylecgogine in his system.

He was caught with 464ugl in his blood.

The limit is 50ugl per 100ml of blood.

Irvine must carry out 40 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

This unpaid work is to run consecutively to a suspended sentence and unpaid work made on June 16.

Irvine has also been disqualified from obtaining or holding a licence for 42 months.

His record has also been endorsed.

Irvine was ordered to be £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and £90 to fund victim services.

His guilty plea was also taken into consideration when imposing the sentence.
