Advice has been issued to the public on when they must wear a face covering.

Mandatory face coverings came into force for shops and supermarkets on July 24 and from August 8 more businesses will require visitors to wear them.

A new law is set to make face coverings mandatory in more places including funeral directors, cinemas theatres and bingo halls.

Face coverings will also have to be worn in concert halls, museums and beauty salons.

The law does not apply to restaurants, bars and pubs with table service.

The latest Government guidance says: "Face coverings should be worn in indoor places not listed in section two where possible.

Face coverings can be removed to eat and drink including in the cafe of a supermarket.

If necessary police can issue a £100 fine for failing to comply which would reduce to half if paid within 14 days.
