A clothing collection will take place at Whitehaven Rugby Union Football Club to support the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Jordan Mattinson, who has organised two previous collections for the service has announced there will be another drop-in-day at the clubhouse on Richmond Terrace on August 7, from 9am to 2pm.

They are trying to raise more than £20,000 for the emergency service and their current total stands at £16,800.

Items that can be taken for the drop-in event are clothing, bags and footwear; bed linen, towels and curtains; books, cds and dvds; mobile phones; ink/toner cartridges.

The GNAAS can not accept bric-a-brac or electrical items.
