The Lake District’s first socially distanced music festival has been announced for the August Bank Holiday
The Social 2.0 will be held at the Westmorland County Showground, south of Kendal, between August 28 to 30.
It is a collaboration between the showground and The Innova Collective – it’s being run to raise money for the mental health charity Mind and local foodbanks.
Thomas Smith of The Innova Collective is heading up logistics and operations for the festival. He said: “This event is about bouncing back, positivity, hope, and resilience and we are sure the wonderful Cumbrian community will show it some support.”
Using a new system of ‘islands’, areas for up to six people, festival goers will be able to party within these designated spaces.
The line-up for the event will be announced in the next fortnight.
