Residents of Allerdale are being encouraged to support hospitality businesses in the area which have been hard-hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
Allerdale Borough Council has backed the Government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme which encourages residents to visit local businesses in exchange for savings on food and drink. The scheme starts on August 3, giving any diner eating in participating restaurants a 50 per cent saving on the cost of their bill up to a value of £10 per person.
Councillor John Cook, executive member with responsibility for tourism said: "This is a great scheme from the Government and I'm really pleased to see so many local pubs and restaurants have registered with it."
Participating restaurants can be found on the Visit Allerdale website
