Work has been completed on AMF Bowling in Carlisle’s Currock Road, to transform it into a latest generation Hollywood Bowl family entertainment centre.

Completed to coincide with the reopening of Hollywood Bowl venues across England tomorrow, the rebrand sees a £250k investment with the UK’s biggest bowling operator bringing its iconic American décor and advanced technology to Carlisle.

The centre has seen the makeover of its existing 20 lanes and four VIP lanes including a new state of the art scoring system. Visitors can also play in the amusement area which is being upgraded to feature games and the opportunity to ‘Play for Prizes’, where visitors can win tickets on their favourite games and exchange them for fun goodies.

James Wheeler, centre manager at Hollywood Bowl Carlisle, said: “We’re excited to be bringing the iconic Hollywood bowling experience to the people of Carlisle. The centre has had a glamorous LA-style makeover and we’re delighted to be able to continue to give our customers the best family entertainment experience with our re-brand to a new generation Hollywood Bowl."

The opening of the rebranded centre will see the introduction of enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures, with customer guidance throughout the centre also in place. The centre will reduce the number of lanes in use, by only using alternate lanes, to provide extra space between each game taking place. Amusement machines, as well as bar and diner seating, will be appropriately spaced out and signage will be visible throughout the venue to remind customers to maintain a safe distance from others.

There will be reduced customer capacity at the centre to ensure that social distancing measures can be adhered to, and groups will be restricted to a maximum of six people with bowlers asked to arrive slightly ahead of their booking time.
