THEATRE goers were rejoicing at the news that outdoor theatre was set to return to Talkin Tarn Country Park next month.

Two open-air performances will be held in August, the first since the start of the lockdown.

A number of covid-19 safety measures will be in place. Organisers have asked customers bring their own seats, not rugs, for the events.

The tearoom kiosk will be open for refreshments.

Touring theatre company, the Pantaloons will be kicking off events on Thursday, staging Sherlock Holmes with: “Holmes and Watson tackling their most fiendish case yet”.

The play is for all ages featuring live music and audience interaction.

On August 20 The theatre company will also stage Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

A spokeswoman for the park said: “The Pantaloons present their own brand of open-air Shakespeare mayhem. Family-friendly fun with live music and audience participation.”

Gates for both performances open from 6pm for a 7pm start.

Tickets for each event cost £10 adult, £5 child, under 16) or £25 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) and £8 concessions.

Tickets must be booked in advance and cannot be purchased at the door.

Organisers have asked that people wear a mask when entering and exiting the venue, taking it off for the performance or picnic. Anyone with Covid-19 symptoms is asked not to attend - tickets can be refunded or transferred.

People attending should keep two metres apart.
