POLICE have launched an appeal after a man let himself into a property in Wigton in the middle of the night.
He got in through and open front door, walked upstairs and woke one of the occupants asking if a named man lived at the address, in Waver Lane. He left after realising this was not the case.
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw the man in the area at about 5am on Saturday, July 25.
He is described to be in his early 20s, white, 5ft 11" tall and of slim build with brown hair, which was long on the top and shaved on the sides. He also had a local accent.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101, email 101@cumbria.police.uk, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 85 of July 26, 2020.
