A Carlisle woman is competing in Miss England’s semi-final.
Lucy Salter, 25, will be taking part in the event on July 31, which has gone virtual due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Lucy, sponsored by Jopsons Jewellers in Carlisle, is a sales manager and was a kit carrier for athlete Usain Bolt at the 2012 London Olympic games.
She is hoping to make the final and stand out among the 40 contestants.
She said: “Approximately 40 contestants from across England have been invited to submit three videos to enter this year’s semi final, which consist of an introduction, a catwalk and a talent video.
“The current Miss England, NHS doctor Bhasha Mukherjee, will be making a special appearance on the livestream after working at the hospital.”
The event will be streamed live, with the judges meeting at a central location.
