A mountain rescue team, coastguard helicopter and the air ambulance service were called out last night to assist a walker who suffered a 150ft fall.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team attended Whiteless Pike last night for their first callout since the coronavirus lockdown.
A woman suffered a 150ft "tumbling fall" from the top of Whiteless Pike, sustaining a suspected broken wrist and serious head injuries.
The walker was assisted by air ambulance medical crews but due to the location of the fall, an AW189 from the coastguard was needed to transport her to hospital.
A spokesperson for Cockermouth Mountain Rescue said: "We wish her a speedy recovery. One callout between March and July is unheard of for us and we feel duty bound to thank the public for heeding advice and staying within their limits."
