The Outward bound organisation is packing 1000 free days of adventure into August.

They are running adventure day activities aimed at young people aged 11 to 17.

The organisation says it is giving young people the opportunity to grab some outdoor adventure, outward bound style.

Activities take place in the wild spaces of the Lake District and Snowdonia, Wales and could include hiking, canoeing, gorge scrambling, abseiling, rock climbing, rafting, kayaking and wild swimming.

Due to the generosity of donors and supporters they can offer 1000 fully funded outdoor adventure days to young people aged 11 to 17 that qualify for school meals and to young people that need it most.

The outward bound adventure days are available to all young people aged 11 to 17 for a cost of £30.

The organisation said it is a time for young people to focus on their mental well being.

It is also a time for safe social interaction, making new friends, having a break from their screens and to have some fun in a safe environment.

Any young person that is interested in the outward bound adventure days during August should register for details at their website: Outwardbound.org.uk
