A BUSINESS that had part of their property set on fire is urging people to come forward with information.

Holme Head House, Denton Holme, Carlisle had its greenhouse set alight on Wednesday night.

It was a neighbour who saw the smoke and quickly alerted emergency services to the blaze.

Carlisle East and Carlisle West were called at about 9.45pm on Wednesday to the property after the greenhouse was set alight.

On arrival they found the greenhouse to be well alight and used a hosereel and small tools to extinguish it.

Roger Sealey, the owner of the property, is extremely disappointed that they have been subject to vandalism.

He explained: “It’s a real shame. We’ve had a problem before with vandals and I’ve caught youths before in the greenhouse.

“It’s sad when people are coming together and then we have people doing this.”

Holme Head House has been closed since February and has no plans to reopen until government guidelines permit, and it is extremely upset that this has happened.

The owners are grateful to their neighbour for alerting the emergency services so quickly.

Mr Sealey is asking anyone with information to contact them or the police.
