A man has been jailed after he admitted stealing items including an Abba CD, trespassing by crossing railway tracks and possessing drugs.
Thomas Edward Morton, 43, appeared at the magistrates court in Workington on Friday.
Morton, of Station Road in Workington, pleaded guilty to the following charges:
- Trespassing by crossing the railway lines at the Maryport station on February 19.
- Stealing an I-phone X belonging to Laura Bailiff and worth £500 on March 11.
- Having a quantity of amphetamine, a controlled drug of class B, in his possession on April 11.
- Stealing a copy of The Album by Abba and two copies of Travelling Through by Bob Dylan, costing £73.99 from HMV in Workington on June 21.
Morton was jailed for eight weeks.
Magistrates felt the offences were serious, because they were committed while on two community orders and post-sentence supervision.
The court also considered Morton's extensive previous convictions and his lack of compliance with non-custodial sentences.
